After the rabbit year, which brought Taiwanese people vitality and energy, we are now expecting the arrival of the Dragon Year. The dragon holds a significant place in Asian culture as a traditional symbol; however, I aimed to give it a transformation with a new approach. The Chinese language has numerous pictographs, and these characters consist of drawings of the objects they represent.龍 (lóng), which means dragon, represents its mythical appearance. I simplified the character and introduced some squircles in the typeface. This not only mirrors the round shape of the dining table on our Lunar New Year’s Eve gatherings, but it also gives itself the meaning of reunion (團圓). Lastly, while the main composition adopted a contemporary style, I decided to incorporate a conventional colour scheme (red, black, and gold), highlighting a key feature of spring couplets.

度過充滿活力和能量的兔年之後，我們現在期盼著龍年的到來。龍在亞洲文化中佔據重要地位，是一個傳統的象徵；然而，我希望以一種新的方式賦予它新形象。中文有許多象形文字，這些字由代表它們的物體的圖畫組成。「龍」（lóng），意指龍，代表了其神話般的外觀。我簡化了這個字符，並在字型中引入了一些超橢圓形。這不僅代表了我們農曆新年前夕聚餐的圍爐餐桌，還賦予了它「團圓」的含義。最後，雖然主要的構圖採用了現代風格，我決定加入傳統的顏色方案（紅色、黑色和金色），突顯新年春聯的主要特色。
